Amy Boyes teaches private lessons to students from elementary to advanced. Her students frequently participate in conservatory examinations and in local community performance events.
Amy is a member of the Royal Conservatory of Music's College of Examiners and is a Certified Teacher of Piano, History and Harmony.
As an adjudicator, Amy judges piano festivals across Canada. She is Council Member for the Canadian Music Festival Adjudicators' Association and is Vice President of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (Past-President of the Ottawa Region Branch).
Amy is pleased to work with student-teacher Lia Hsueh as of Fall 2020. Lia will accept beginner students in conjunction with Amy. Students will be taught weekly by Lia but their overall progress will be monitored by Amy as she mentors Lia's progress as a teacher. Students will have access to Amy's music library and will perform in Amy's studio recital.
Lia Hsueh is a Grade 12 student at Earl of March Secondary School. Piano has been an interest since a young age. Lia has completed a Grade 10 Practical Piano Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music and an Elementary Piano Pedagogy Certificate, certifying her to teach beginners up to level 4 Royal Conservatory students. Teaching children has always been an interest for Lia as she enjoys the excitement and creativity that comes with young minds. As a piano teacher, Lia encourages students to develop their abilities and helps them reach their full potential.
