FREE no obligation first lesson!Welcome to the website of Amy Boyes' piano lesson studio 9 Lightfoot Place, Kanata ON (Ottawa west region). Here you will find studio policies (fees, payment plans, attendance information), teaching philosophy, biographical details, sample perfomance media, and contact information. Amy believes in a positive learning environment for students of all ages which is defined by enthusiasm and encouragement. Attendance, Practice, Make-Up LessonsRegular attendance is expected of all students. Students are charged for all lessons for which they register including those missed through student absence. Notification of inability to attend lesson does not excuse payment for the lessonIn the case of lessons missed by students, one (1) make-up lesson will be offered per session if notification of absence is given by 5:00 pm of the day prior to the scheduled lesson.For students who choose to participate, a studio schedule with student names and phone numbers will be made available for students to arrange a lesson time trade with someone else in the studio. Forms will be available at the interview. In the event the instructor cancels a lesson, a make-up will be offered.Tardiness: Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time.Students are expected to come to all lessons prepared. Assignments are given at every private lesson (i.e.: Theory, Technique and Repertoire). New StudentsNew students must arrange a placement interview with Amy Boyes. This process assists both the instructor and the student in finding the most appropriate method for his/her needs and interests. Following the interview, if both parties agree to begin lessons, payment and scheduling arrangements will be made and students will be asked to fill out a registration form. New students may begin taking lessons at any time, and are not required to wait until the official beginning of a term.Payment PolicyLesson rates are as follows: $25/30 minutes, $37.50/45 minutes, $50/60 minutes Family rates: 2 children for 30 minutes each = $45 total, 2 children for 45 minutes each = $70 totalPost-dated cheques for the entire term are due at the first lesson of the term. For example, if there are fifteen weeks in a fall term spread over 4 months (Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec) then four cheques for the average monthly cost would be due the first week of September. (15 lessons x $25 = $375, $375/4 months = 93.75)At time of the introductory interveiw a hard copy of the above policy will be given to the parent and the following will be signed for the studio records:Piano Studio Policy DocumentThis application must be signed for admission. I have read the Studio Policy as well as the Studio Operating Procedures and have had all my questions answered. I understand them and agree to their terms. I certify that the above named student(s) is in good health and capable of participating in lessons. I hereby release The Amy Boyes Piano Studio, Amy Boyes and her spouse from all liabilityfor personal injury, illness or property loss or damage resulting directly or indirectly from Studio activities. I agree to allow The Amy Boyes Piano Studio to take photographs / video / recordings of me or my child's lessons for archival purposes and studio promotional use (names will be withheld).
